History
On a sunny November day, Henry, Hallward, and Dorian Gray were seated at a table in the backyard of Hallward's house, smoking cigarettes and drinking wine. The three friends were talking about the beauty of Dorian, who had blond hair and blue eyes. The three of them talked about how lucky he was to be so handsome.
It was when Hallward asked Dorian to stand in front of the garden to take a picture of him with his cell phone. The photo came out perfect. Henry commented that his friend captured the beauty of Dorian well. Dorian in turn was amazed by the photo and started to have an obsession for her and her beauty.
The following week, Henry saw Dorian admiring his picture and then told his friend to enjoy it while he had this beauty, because in time he would look old and ugly. What Henry said consumed Dorian. How could he be content to lose his beauty?
Dorian decided he would not think about it and decided to go on with his life normally.
One day he went to the mall and was enchanted by the beauty of a woman having coffee in a restaurant. He went to her and soon conquered her.
After two months, Dorian announced that he would marry the girl, whose name was Sibyl Vane.
All was well but Dorian's obsession with his beauty and the fear of being ugly consumed him a lot. He turned away from his friends Henry and Hallward and his beloved Sibyl, looking for ways to stay beautiful.
Her beloved went into depression because of her husband's absence, and eventually she stopped eating and became ill. A while later she died.
Dorian had done many surgeries to keep himself young and handsome.
Henry and Hallward, their only friends, had moved to Paris and never spoke to Dorian again because he had walked away.
The years went by and Gray felt increasingly lonely, missing his friends and his late wife and was entering into a deep depression, feeling a regret for having lost everything he loved most because of his obsession.
One night his friend Alan Campbell decided to pay a surprise visit to Gray, since he had not seen him in a long time.
As no one answered when he rang the doorbell, he decided to come in, since the door was unlocked as well. Arriving in the room on the top floor of the house, she found Dorian Gray dead on the floor, with a knife in her heart and a suicide note saying that in the end, beauty does not matter if her soul is ugly, as beauty goes away with time but the character and intelligence remain forever, and that he learned it in the worst possible way and that's why he decided to take his own life.
